Some Twitter users who have been following closely media reports Donald Trump’s impeachment trial appears to be confused about the meaning of the acronym DSO. Is it police language? Military rank?
Is it very hidden? Still made up? They shared their collective confusion about the acronym on Twitter.

What does DSO mean in terms of police?
After protests at Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, former President Trump being investigated to determine if he instigated the incident. During the ongoing impeachment trial, the term “DSO” has been heard several times on recordings, and people wondered what it meant.
In terms of police, DSO means domestic security guard. The acronym can be heard in recordings of the Capitol siege when law enforcement officers need extra support against oncoming crowds.
DSOs are primarily used as riot police for crowd control measures such as tear gas, pepper spray, batons and rubber bullets designed to disperse rioters. Their weapons can be lethal and should only be used in the most extreme situations.
Some Twitter users speculated that DSO could also mean “regional security officer” or “departmental strategic objective.”

However, as mentioned earlier, this is not the case.

As part of the record of events on Capitol Hill, most of the public was familiar with the term DSO during Donald Trump’s impeachment trial. Washington post The officer can be heard shouting “Cruiser 50, now give me the DSO! DSO! Multiple law enforcement DSOs, come up!”.
Former President Trump is currently under investigation ‘Inciting deadly thugs’after he refused to admit to being acting president, which is believed to be the cause of the protests.
However, he has not yet been convicted of any crime. At the time of writing, the trial is ongoing and no verdict has been reached.
