The singer was so frustrated with Amitabha’s actions that he decided to stop singing for him. However, the two made peace a few years later after Kishore sang “Aaya Aaya Toofan” in Amitabh’s film “Toofan”.

• He also stopped singing for Mithun Chakraborty after his third wife Yogeeta Bali divorced him and married Mithun. However, he couldn’t avoid singing for Mithun for a long time and dubbed Mithun’s film Surakkhsha (1979) and several later hits – Disco Dancer, Faraib (1983) and Waqt Ki Awaz (1988).

• During the Indian state of emergency (1975-1977), when Sanjay Gandhi approached him to sing for the Indian National Congress (INC) rally in Mumbai, Kishore Kumar rejected the offer. As a result, from 4 May 1976 until the end of the state of emergency, the then Congress government unofficially banned the playing of Kishore Kumar’s songs on national broadcaster Doordarshan and All India Radio.

• In the 1960s, he gained notoriety for being late or covering up shootings. Kishore Kumar has also been caught up in income tax issues due to the repeated failures of his films.
